Harbour Smart, but Boatworthy Attire with Tastevins
Last Minute Calls: (703) 625-9875
The bubbly boat the Admiral Tilp (Tilt?) will be ours
for
hours. We will spend the autumn evening enjoying Washington and
its
most glorious memorials the way they were intended to be enjoyed.
Cruising down Washington’s Main Street, we will sip champagne, sample
tasty tidbits, and delight in each other’s company.
A variety of appropriate bubblies are being carefully selected. A
range of still wines are being sniffed, tasted, and approved. An
array
of tasty morsels of smoked and cured fish are aging for the peak of
perfection. Diverse selections of cheeses are gracefully
maturing.
K.C. Finn is eyeballing certain fish for harvesting their eggs and
turning them into her signature caviar dish. A multitude of other
treats are being examined for your pleasure.
All this is being prepared for your delight. It is an unparallel
opportunity to revel in the glories of Washington in a manner that many
consider the most beautiful and striking way. The Redskins play
away
in the afternoon that day, so fans may appear without fear. All you
have to do is bring the one(s) with whom you have most fun.
PRICE: Holding our own – same as for the past few years: $59
per
person for each member and first guest; $65 per person for additional
guests.
THOMAS JEFFERSON HARVEST DINNER
Home of Cheryl Vazzana • Middleberg,
VA
October 23rd • 5:30
p.m.
Formal Attire
Use your imagination! Those were the instructions we gave
Karen
Harper Fuog when she designed the menu for her first Thomas
Jefferson Harvest Dinner. She was tentative in her first dinner,
more daring in the second dinner, and became far more daring in her
third dinner.
Now she is back!! With a vengeance! Karen spent two years
preparing her most daring sequel. Clearly, Karen Harper Fuog IV will be
superior to all previous performances. And, we have had two years
to sip, sample, and store wines for her challenges. This dinner
will not be for the faint at heart. The ever imaginative Karen is
dreaming up ways to challenge your palates and our innovative food and
wine pairings. For those who “think out of the box,” this will be
the place to be. We will use our double pairings of wine with the
major courses to stir up controversy and challenge. Few dare to
go where we will go.
The ever resourceful Vice Commander Sandra Shutler has arranged that
Cheryl Vazzana allow us to use their beautiful home
immediate outside of Middleburg for this event.
This stupendous evening of imaginative food and wine pairings in an
elegant private setting will probably sell out quickly. As of
yet, we cannot establish a firm price. However, I project it to
be approximately the same as last time:
$175 per person per
member and first guest and $200 per person for additional guests.
You may wish to reserve early, fully recognizing there may be a modest
price bump.

Business or Seasonal Attire
This delightful event features a groaning board of

presents to the less fortunate children in Anacostia (Southeast D.C.)
and Alexandria, VA. Our good friends at the Portofino Restaurant
help make this happen. The price is $40 per person for each
member and first guest and $45 per person for additional guests.
All attending are requested to bring a child’s gift of
approximately $15 in value, appropriately wrapped, and marked with the
appropriate age and sex.
